FEAR or Being Confident- Your Presentation©

by Cheryl Coccaro - March 2006

A venture into the unknown....ourselves and our creations!

That little old "fear" bugger creeps into our mind and present itself to us that:
our creations are not "good enough",
or done perfectly,
or you can see a small mark of your pliers,
or that wrap could be better,
or I'll just redo it until it is perfect!

Oh, the fear factor of being rejected!
We all have it, some of it comes quickly to the surface and we feel inadequate and unsure of ourselves and of our work.

You might approach this problem in a different way.
Put on your "hat" of confidence and practice:
what you will say,
how you present yourself is the most important item that you bring with you.

Do you go into the shop meekly? I hope not.
Do you make excuses for your pieces? I hope not.
Do you point out the mistakes in your work? I hope not.
Do you appear to beg for the shop to take on your work? I hope not.

What do do need is to wear the "Hat" of being:
Accomplished
Sure of Yourself
Knowing Your Work Is Beautiful
Fairly Priced so Both You and the Shop Owner Benefit
That What You Have Created is Just What the Shop Owner Needs
and more importantly...wants.

How do you bring your items with you? In boxes, bags, zip locks, trays or travel cases.
That very first look is the look that is remembered. It is the time for your Best Presentation of not only you but your jewelry. Make it professional.

Rehearse exactly what you will do, say, act. Practice makes perfection not only in your jewelry creations, but also in life.
